Today we’d like to introduce you to Scott Kurstin.

Scott, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I attended Lehigh University and received my degree in Business Management. I followed that up by receiving a Master in Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University. My experience helped me land my first job in the Sports and Entertainment division at Pro Access, located in Miami. At Pro Access, I assisted in the representation of the commercial endorsement deals for such stars as Pro Football Hall of Famer’s Barry Sanders and Emmit Smith and Major League Baseball player Barry Bonds. While an exciting job and journey, the lifestyle was not suitable for my family ambitions. I joined edgeMED Healthcare in Boca Raton and worked my way up to Senior Vice President and Shareholder.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
What helped me the most, both personally and professionally, was starting at the bottom of the organization when I joined edgeMED Healthcare in an entry level role. I put in the long hours and hard work to learn all facets of the business, while also earning the respect of my colleagues. Our most significant business decision came in 2007, when we decided to expand our services and provide medical billing and receivable recovery. It was a natural transition given our decades of development and expertise in the practice management software landscape. Today, our core service offering, and largest component of our business, is our medical billing and collection service that enables physicians’ and healthcare organizations to increase revenue and improve operational workflow.
